Remuneration & Expenditures of Council Members & Appointees

The Municipal Act, Sec. 284 requires the Treasurer to file with Council by the 31st of March, a statement of total remuneration and expenses paid in the previous year to members of Council in respect of his or her services as a member of Council or any other body, including a local board. Further, the Treasurer is required to include each person appointed by the municipality to serve as a member of any body, including local boards. The Province of Ontario through the Municipal Act delegates Guelph City Council the authority to set its remuneration.
